There are very simple ways of using the sun's energy like drying clothes outside on a sunny day. This method was used for years before there were washers and dryers for our clothes. Today different devices are used to collect the sun's energy, and then it is converted to the right form that you need it is to use.

Solar energy can be used for cooking from supplying your home with electricity to run the stove to doing solar cookers outdoors. It can also heat your water, house, or even your swimming pool. You can use small units for power when camping. Even the calculators we use today are powered by the sun! There are solar chargers for our other hand-held devices like our cell phones. More developing countries are starting to look into solar energy to use in there more isolated regions. This allows the individuals to use certain appliances without having to be hooked into a grid, which is expensive to try to do in these areas.

Now that you know a few more solar energy facts, you now can understand why more people need to switch over to using it. We will not only be polluting the environment less but we will also be using a renewable energy source.
